A real upgrade
Upgraded to the lithium Tempo after years on lead-acid batteries and the difference in charging speed alone was worth it. A little pricier than I expected, but no more watering batteries every week.

Living near the coast, rust killed my last cart in a few years. Went with the Tempo specifically for the aluminum frame and it’s been rock solid. Ride is noticeably smoother than my old lead-acid cart too.
Sun City
Bought mine used without having it inspected first and ended up replacing the batteries within a few months. Runs great now, but I’d tell anyone shopping used to get a mechanic to look it over before buying.
Mount Pleasant
Picked up an older DS and had it refurbished with a new body and lithium batteries. Cost way less than a new cart and honestly drives just as well. The aluminum frame from the coast years still looked great underneath.
Such a Reliable Ride
The Precedent definitely shows its age in a few areas. The ride quality is fine but not particularly refined, especially compared to newer carts with upgraded suspension systems. Technology is minimal unless it’s been upgraded, most stock models feel pretty basic inside, with simple controls and limited features. One of the biggest advantages, though, is how customizable the Precedent is. There’s a massive aftermarket for these carts, so it’s easy to upgrade things like the battery (especially to lithium), add lighting kits, improve seating, or even convert it into a street-legal setup. That flexibility makes it a great platform if you want something you can gradually improve over time.
Overall, the Club Car Precedent isn’t the most modern or feature-packed cart out there, but it’s one of the most dependable. If you’re looking for something reliable, easy to maintain, and widely supported, it’s still a very solid choice, especially on the used market. It’s not exciting, but it’s consistent, and for a lot of buyers, that’s exactly what matters.
